Spleen must be cut in rather thin slices (2-3 mm max.) and fixed for 24-48 h
in neutral buffered formalin.
It's one of the most difficult tissues to gross. Especially in cases of
suspicious NHL (with and without "villous" lymphocytes, MarCL's, ...) and
angiomatoid lesions THIN slices and optimal fixation in NBF is THE clue for
the right diagnosis.
