Dear netters: I'm in need of some up to date literature on the following=

Are prions definitely killed i.e. is their pathogenic potential destroyed by
alcohols, clearing agents and hot paraffin during routine histologic
processing? Any MD or DVM knows about TSE (=BSE, FSE,
CWD, CJD, etc.)-causing agents' resistance to formalin fixation. But who can
document the current knowledge on this topics? It is in favor of our own
biosecurity!!
