Light Green Aqueous Mounting

From:Linda Jenkins

John,
Bancroft's second edition, Theory and Practice of Histological Techniques, Appendix V has a very nice section on mounting medias.  It states that potassium acetate may be added to aqueous mountants  almost to the point of saturation to reduce the bleeding of cationic dyes, at the same time giving a pH of approximately 7.0.  So... I guess the question is...is light green cationic?  Also, you can permanently mount from 95% alcohol with Euparal (used to be commercially available from Gurr).
        Regards,
        Linda
