Zinc Formalin is great on some IHC's, like cd markers, in the past when I
have antigen retrieved these they came up negative for any staining, however
when re-stained without retrieval they were beautiful. This is of course not
tried on every antibody but a great many, you may want to do side by side
staining with and without retrieval for best results.
