From:

Surgipath infiltration media followed by embedding media. However, I also
use Tissue Prep for both infiltration and embedding without any difficulty,
and have tried many others with equal success. Your paraffin may not be
the source of your ribbon problems as most paraffins work wonderfully,
double or single sytems. You did not say which one you are having trouble
with???? Fair to say that on Histonet!!!! as others may have had similar
problems with same brand??? Hang it out there ----

Do you stir the paraffin before embedding? I do that with Surgipaths
embedding media to redistribute the polymers which settle to bottom of
container (they are heavier) to restore balance of mixture. This could
also be a problem with others.

It could also be the knife, a tweak of angle that may have subtly changed,
bad lot of knives - etc.
