Laboratory technician:
Comparative orthopedics laboratory, Department of Veterinary Clinical
Sciences, The Ohio State University

A new and challenging position is available in the Comparative Orthopedic
Research Laboratory in The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences,
College of Veterinary Medicine, The Ohio State University.  The major
interests of this interdisciplinary group are the investigation of total
joint arthroplasty, fracture management, osteoarthritis and biomaterials in
animals and man.  With substantial industrial support (ZIMMER) and
collaboration in our research, a new laboratory is being developed, which
includes a dedicated orthopedic histology laboratory.  The candidate's
primary responsibility will be tissue processing and operation of an EXAKT
cutting/grinding system.  Additional responsibilities may include cell
culture, ELISA, immunohistochemistry, confocal microscopy, histomorphometry
and other work as required.  Experience in some of these techniques, as
well as accuracy in data acquisition and analysis is preferred, but
training will be provided.
