I have found that several markers, including CD45, Ki67, CD3, CD79 lose
antigenicity rather quickly if cut in advance of staining. To ensure all
ICH are properly controlled, we have a policy of cutting the control slides
at the same time the patient case is cut. It may be a bit more time
consuming, but it has prevented having to repeat cases because the controls
did not react properly. It always confuses the docs if the patient case
stains darker than the control.
