The Anatomic Pathology Section of the Pathology Department at Genentech, Inc. has a Research Assistant/Associate available.

Duties include: development and application of non-isotopic in situ hybridization protocols, performing immunohistochemistry trimming tissues for histology, paraffin embedding of
tissues, paraffin sectioning, cryotomy, database entry, image collection and processing.  Must be able to work in a small group setting as well as independently in setting up
projects.

Requirements:  must have a BS or MS and extensive prior experience in performing in situ hybridization and immunohistochemistry. Prior experience and applied knowledge of histology
techniques, PCR, microscopy and computer skills are required. Willingness to work with various animal species is also required.  Excellent communication skills, presenting data at
group and departmental meetings, organization and problem-solving skills are required.  The position requires willingness and enthusiasm for learning new methods and techniques.  The
candidate must be a team player and must be able to lift at least 10 lbs.
