Several people have asked me questions about the Diff-Quik II stain for
Helicobacter pylori.
I have a detailed method, in NCCLS format with references, on my Web site at
http://members.aol.com/RSRICHMOND/histology.html
I have introduced this method in at least five laboratories in my travels. In
my personal opinion it is quite as good as the more complex methods.
I have a procedure for the Genta stain, but have never even seen the stain
for myself. I think several people on this list perform it. The reference is
Robert M. Genta MD. George O. Robason HT(ASCP). David Y. Graham MD. (Baylor
in Houston, at VA center there). Simultaneous visualization of Helicobacter
pylori and gastric morphology: a new stain.
