I do a column for the U.S. National Society for Histotechnology newsletter
called "Best of the Histonet." I look through the posts on the Histonet and
pick out those threads that give some good information that would be of
interest to those not hooked up to the internet yet (yes- there are still a
some, no, a lot of non-users!).

It occured to me that this would be a good group to put together a list of
really helpful books on the huge variety of applications we all work in. I
would like to get your recommendations on the books you use in your own work
to get the job done, and those you have learned the most from in your field.
This is not limited to Histotechnology. Give a very brief summary of the
book (one or two sentences). I would like permission to publish it within
the suggestion(s) you give so I don't have to spend a lot of time getting
permissions. I will post the list back onto the histonet once it is put
together.

Title, author, publisher, year, ISBN number.
