We have a client that wants to send us unfixed frozen tissue. From
there, we are going to cryotome and send unstained slides back to him at
which time he is going to do IHC staining on them. Never having dealt
with unfixed tissue, I am not sure how to fix the tissue and not ruin
the IHC properties. What are the health risks involved with dealing
with unfixed tissues? Does anyone have a protocol on how to fix these
tissues? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in
advance.
