I received the same virus recently and fortunately did not open the
attachment. Only antivirus program that detects it is Norton AntiVirus,
so you were lucky, Jane. It somehow integrates itself into your email
system and you will be passing it along with every email you send
without you knowing it.

I received the Happy99.exe attachment about four weeks ago before there was
any publicity about it. It came from someone I knew but who innocently sent
it to me. And yes, it caused me all kinds of grief.

And at the time, I did have the Norton antivirus software installed, but it
was an earlier version (vintage about a year), and it did not detect the
virus. But once I downloaded the latest version of the Norton software, it
did detect it just as Katri indicated.

So you do want to make sure you have the very latest Norton version because
if you an earlier version, you won't have the protection you think you have.
