I must agree with Bryan that this is a small artery cut at an oblique
angle just as it bends.

I have an image of an H&E stained structure that I want to submit to a
micrograph competition (it is to be judged on artistic rather than
scientific merit!). Does anyone know what it might be?
 
It was in an FFPE mouse kidney section - but not within the kidney
tissue.
 
Is it a stucture or an artifact?
