Dear Lisa,
I performed FJ staining on formaldehyde-fixed brain tissue (frozen
rat/mice 40µm sections on Superfrost+ slides) using the protocol
detailed in [Schmued LC, Hopkins KJ (2000) Fluoro-Jade B: a high
affinity fluorescent marker for the localization of neuronal
degeneration. Brain Res 874: 123-130].
It works fine, staining all degenerating material with minimal
background. I can send you the paper if you do not have it.
Good luck!
Benoit
