Actually no,
         The study we were doing was using blocks that we had cut freshly. 
The blocks were old (mostly) but they were generally cut and stained within 
a week. I have seen degradation of epitopes in old slides but not in old 
blocks recently cut. Truly the culprit was a very poor primary antibody. 
I'll certainly be looking into the monoclonal Tomorrow morning though.
