When we're pressed for time Milton, we microwave our slides in an 800 watt oven for 2 minutes prior to prep for immunostaining.

Subject: Microwave slides for Immunohistochemistry studies
Do any of you microwave your slides for staining H&E, particularly for
Immuno staining? Is it recommended.? What works best for you and under
what conditions.
Thanks,
