Ian,
Wash the sections in distilled water and then float onto normal slides and
dry overnight, either on a hotplate or in an incubator. Next day simply
mount them in your preferred mounting medium. I prefer DPX  for thicker
sections.  They should clear O.K. If not you could try just a quick wash in
xylene or xylene substitute to aid in the clearing process and then mount as
normal. (with or without nitrile gloves whatever you prefer!!).
