Yes that's fine.  I've also air dried sections and mounted with a
hydrophobic mountant (for markers like TrueBlue).  Some markers are
soluble in any organic solvent and require an aqueous mountant, for
example Vector's alkaline phosphatase substrate kit III (Vector blue).
