RE: Bone Marrows in Zinc Formalin

From:"Horn, Hazel V"

Hi Carol,
We use zinc formalin exclusively. One thing to be aware of, is zinc
formalin and NBF do not mix together. If you use NBF for other tissues you
will need to have a running water rinse before putting your zinc fixed bone
marrows in with your NBF tissues. If you do not do this, the NBF solution
will turn cloudy. When we occasionally get NBF fixed tissue we wash them
in running water for at a minimum of 20 minutes.
Hazel

Subject: Bone Marrows in Zinc Formalin

If anyone could send me any protocols or suggestions, we are going to be
handling bone marrows fixed in Zinc Formalin for the first time, anything
specific we should know concerning decal, processing, staining or cutting?
Thanks in advance for any help.
