FW: Stevenel's blue, Van Gieson's picro fuchsin

From:Rachel D Maddox

Hi. I have some bone tissue grown on poly-lactic acid material that has
been stained with Stevenel's blue, Van Gieson's picro fuchsin. I'm not
familiar with these stains and have seen guidelines indicating that bone
will stain red, osteoid stain green, and fibrous tissue stain blue. Can
anyone confirm this and also, any ideas about what color the acidic
polymer material will stain? There is some yellowish staining that may
be the polymer, anything else known to stain yellow with this protocol?
Thanks,

Rachel
