Re: Free downloaded faxing programs

From:Amos Brooks

Hi,
Here are a few options I have found. I have tried othellotech and it
works well but it is a bit limited. You get what you pay for and this is
free so I have no complaints.
It seems important to mention here though that usually freeware is
intended for individual home users so if you are using it for business then
they will (justifiably) want to charge you for it. Also with freeware and
shareware there is usually a really bright college kid eating Ramen Noodles
for dinner and trying to pick up a few extra bucks on the side that has put
these wonderful programs together. The registrations and such are usually a
drop in the bucket for the functionality and cost savings you get. I highly
recommend paying these programmers (even the freeware ones) for their time
and effort.
OK I'm off the soapbox now here are the goodies !!!

http://www.davecentral.com/projects/faxmail1/?topic=103,104 <--- not
*exactly* free
http://www.fax4free.com/home.asp <--- free to receive faxes to e-mail (click
on eFax Free)
http://www.othellotech.net/othellofax.htm <--- this one looks promising
(text only though :-( )
http://cognigen.net/faxaway/?comsearch <--- nice one but you need to pay for
the call (long distance charges)
http://store.yahoo.com/rks/mightyfax.html <--- shareware for only $20.00(US)
(Good deal I think)

Enjoy,
Amos Brooks
