This is another of L. C. Schmued's compounds, and
like his fluoro-jade the identity is a trade secret.
The web site says it's a "haloaurophosphate" and provides
technical instructions for its use.
BUT why use this expensive unknown substance to stain
myelin black when the job can be done inexpensively either
with sudan black B on frozen sections or with Loyez's
iron haematoxylin on paraffin sections? (Palladium chloride
also works nicely on frozen sections of peripheral tissues
[but it's not so good for the CNS]).
