RE: Xylene substitutes.

From:Cynthia Favara

Ian,

I use Propar from Anatech her in Montana. Do not know if you can even get this in the UK. Have been very staisified with it on animal tissue exclusively. Can use permount, their special mounting media or other substitute mountanta form other sources.

Subject: Xylene substitutes.

The forces of darkness are moving on me and insist I move away from xylene. So, from the many substitutes on the market what is the current favourite? Although I'd like to hear all comments those from the UK would be very welcome, just for ease of supply. At the moment I use Tissue-Clear (Sakura) and mount from xylene using Entellan. Are any of these substitutes miscible with Entellan, DPX and Balsam etc. or is it the 'own brand mountant'.
Ian.
