I wanted to get my tech's fingers out of xylene as it is supposed to be a
neuro-toxin. We use Surgipath's Clearium to coverslip out of isopropyl
alcohol. It works fine and no fading after years. (pathologists never
noticed)

The forces of darkness are moving on me and insist I move away from
xylene. So, from the many substitutes on the market what is the current
favourite? Although I'd like to hear all comments those from the UK would be
very welcome, just for ease of supply. At the moment I use Tissue-Clear
(Sakura) and mount from xylene using Entellan. Are any of these substitutes
miscible with Entellan, DPX and Balsam etc. or is it the 'own brand
mountant'.
