Tora,
I would place the tissue in Ruffers solution: 
        95% ethanol		300ml		
	2% formalin		500ml		
	5% Sodium carbonate	200ml		
	Water			690ml
Leave for 24-48 hours.
Process as normal, preferably on a gentle process (low
heat, no vacuum, shorter times)
This should do the trick.
