Re: disinfecting instruments
Hello
I used to work in the Central Sterile Dept. at our hospital for 4yrs and
Histology never sent there instruments to us. Also long as you are using a
good disinfectant, check with your central sterile dept. that the one you are
using is the right type you should be fine. I personally feel that if the
central sterile department don't mind running your instruments thu there
system it would be a good idea. They have the correct equipment to meet the
temperatures, although your instruments don't need to be sterile but you are
using them with bloody tissues and you could be a risk.
The Central Sterile Tech's have there education in this field just like we do
in our field.
They are certified in there field. This is my personal opinion.
