Re: Otto Anklam
Kathy, (and all Histonetters)
I have many customers who have asked the same question the past few months.
Unfortunately, Otto Anklam passed away December 19, 2001, at the age of 89.
He will be missed in the scientific community. His obituary from the
Minneapolis Star Tribune follows:
Walter O. Anklam
Walter O. Anklam, age 89, passed away December 19, 2001. He was preceded in
death by daughter, Carol. Survived by loving wife, Marcy, of 61 years; son,
Bob; daughter-in-law, Sandy; 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and
many friends. Walter attended MacPhail and developed a life-long love of the
piano. He also was an Army veteran of WW II. Walter worked in downtown Mpls
for 20 years at the Federal Reserve Bank. He found his life's purpose in
joining his father in the family business doing surgical instrument repair
for international and national hospitals and universities. He grew this
business for over 50 years, working until the day he died. Walter was also
active in The Salvation Army, American Legion, and the Ft. Snelling Club. He
was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who truly
cared about people. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew
him. Memorial service Thursday, 12/27, 2:30 pm at the Werness Brothers
Chapel, 3500 W. 50th St. Visitation 1/2 hour prior to service. Private
interment. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to The Salvation Army.
