Problems with Histonet and Homy lab

From:=?UNKNOWN?Q?Agust=EDn?= Venzano

Dear Isabelle: I'll give you a hand:

For Histonet problems post an e-mail to Linda Margraf=
LMargraf@childmed.dallas.tx.us She's very kind and will fix everything for
you.

As to your "homy" histolab it is my suggestion as an ex-Histotechnician
(During the start of my career) and a Histopathologist to use those cheap
wax baths sold by any shop destinated to females' beauty, I can't remember
now the exact English words for "depilation", does this exist in English?
Some of those baths are of good quality and are provided with sensitive
termostats, you just need checking that they work at 57-60 ºC, the melting
point temp. of histological paraffins. In order to add vacuum just buy a
pump, e.g. we have one formed by two glass bottles serially connected by
soft transparent plastic tubes which penetrate through their stoppers. If
you connect this unexpensive home-made pump to a vacuum recipient
sufficiently sized as to contain one wax bath, you'll dispose of a good
"home-made"embedding center!! I can help you in everything else you need.

Sincerely yours

I've tried without sucess to suscribe to the histonet news-list. I will
greatly appreciate if you can post the following message on the list on my
behalf.

thank you
isabelle cote

I am looking to set up small-scale histology facilities using manual
tissue processing (solely due to the limited budget). Can anyone recommend
me a company which could provide us with 2 wax bath one of them having
vacuum capabilities.

thank you for your help
