processing without formalin

From:"Garrison, Becky" <becky.garrison@jax.ufl.edu>

I missed part of the thread about processing without formalin. We have
always assumed the formalin on the processors was insurance that large
tissues were well fixed. You mention biopsies; are large tissues
(breasts, colon cancers, etc) processed the same way???
If so, how long are they in formalin before they go on the processor?

Thanks.
