frozen eyes - my challenge for the week
From: | Andrea Grantham <algranth@u.arizona.edu> |
I have just had a call from a resident who wants to get frozen sections on
rabbit eyes. The purpose of frozens over paraffin sections is that a set of
the eyes are injected with Indocyanine Green dye and another will be
injected with 1% Trypan Blue dye. He is interested in the anterior chamber
of the eye - specifically the lens and is looking for presence of and
penetration of the dye into the lens.
I can find no procedure in any of my books for freezing eyes for frozen
sections. Help!
Does anyone out in histoland have a protocol for freezing eyes,
tips/suggestions for sectioning frozen eyes or maybe know the source of a
good reference for doing this? I'd be eternally grateful!
