According to the CLIA regs anyone that was grossing before 1988 is
grandfathered in.  The guidelines state that they have to have done so for 2
years previously and been under a Pathologist supervision (i think its been
a long time since i checked).  Our Lab has one such individual that is
actually a CLIA recongnized PA.  He dosent have the education though and is
not given the PA salary range but rather a hybrid Histo/PA salary.
