Here's a message Jaclynn has been trying to post:

SUBJECT: microtome knife safety

Back when I did a lot of paraffin and cryo-sectioning with those heavy steel
blades, I wondered about knife guards myself. I couldn't find anything
available by suppliers (maybe I just didn't know where to look), so I used
sections of latex rubber tubing split open and slipped over the ends of the
knife that weren't currently being used. This seemed to work well for me.
