recently we had some falls due to paraffin or slips I might say so we 
purchased special mats from 3M that are for histo labs , catches paraffin , 
but it does not stick to it , so environmental just vacumns, not cheap but 
seem to work well.I found them in a catalogue from ML Labs.          Dana
