It has been most interesting reading the comments on salary comparisons, and
certainly has been a laugh.

I would like to pose a slightly different question. How do you think our
employers are able to offer "competitive salaries" if they themselves do not
compare rates from other employers? Salary comparison is regularly done by
employers, and particularly so when they have staff vacancies to fill.

Since we do not set our own salary scales, knowing  another employer's scale
has no bearing on our own rate of pay. So where is the problem?
Anti-Trust legislation does not deal with knowledge, but rather with
restrictive manipulation as a result of that knowledge.
