Back in the late dark ages when I got into Histology - around 1974 - I 
replaced a woman who just had carpal tunnel surgery. The name may have not 
been coined yet but the symptoms were there...and we had those wonderful old 
black AO's to cut on too! They distinctly told me that she got the problem 
from cutting on the microtome when I applied for her job. What did I know 
back then?
I'm glad I got out of that lab when I did - one of the other techs died of 
liver cancer! Not a healthy place to be.
