Dear Sara
yes, some institutions have both, sometimes not all Lab Admin. know enough
about
Pathology(Histo) especially, but work well together. An AP manager usally is
responsible for cytology(sometimes not always) and Histology and perhaps
various site(surgi centers) that procure tissues. They use these numbers for
better pricing, one person handles all personell records, correlation of
data, even transcription employees. The lab administrator handles all
Supervisors, Managers, and deals with upper echelon in the hospital, they
also handle procurement of large ticket items , like Chemistry Equip, etc.
