We do not use the Shurmark system, but the system we use is that all the cases
for the day are listed on what we call a check-list. On average we have about 50
cases daily, giving us about 100 blocks. Then the total number of blocks is
divided according to the number of microtomists. The number is then rounded up
so that each microtomist has complete cases and no particular case is divided
between two microtomists. In this way we know exactly who cut each case and
initials are not required.
