The cpt code 88321 pathology consultations on slides/tissue from an
outside institution is based on a per accession basis.  Does the
accession refer to my hospital's accession or the referring hospital
accession? Example:  I receive slides from two specimens taken on 2
dates at another hospital (one patient).  I assign it one consult
accession.  Do I charge 88321 x 1 for my one accession or 88321 x 2 once
for each of the specimens submitted?  Thanks!
